Chloroplast Isolation Kits

The Importance of Chloroplast Isolation

Chloroplasts are organelles in plants that perform photosynthesis, and all plant stems, leaves, and immature fruits contain chloroplasts. However, photosynthesis of plants is mainly carried out in the mesophyll cells of leaves. Chloroplasts have complex structures and perform different functions. One of them is a thylakoid, which has pigments on the membrane of the thylakoid that can react with light. The chloroplast matrix contains various inorganic salts and other organic substances, such as sugars, ATP and proteins, the most important of which are enzymes related to the dark reaction of photosynthesis and a small amount of DNA. The isolation of intact chloroplasts therefore facilitates the study of the photosynthetic process and serves as a starting material for the isolation of chloroplast membranes, proteins, chloroplast DNA and chloroplast RNA.

Our Chloroplast Isolation Kits

Traditional chloroplast separation methods are complicated and time-consuming. Here, Lifeasible is committed to providing efficient and convenient chloroplast isolation kits to customers around the world. Our chloroplast isolation kits provide a simple method for the rapid isolation of intact chloroplasts from a variety of plant types, including dicots, monocots, and conifers. In addition, chloroplast isolation kits contain optimized chloroplast extraction buffers and spin columns. The kits' effective procedures for isolating chloroplasts include:

(1) Mechanical damage to the cell wall and cell membrane.
(2) Cell debris and leaf tissue were removed by filtration.
(3) Collect the cell chloroplast total fraction by centrifugation.
(4) Use a Percoll layer or gradient to separate intact chloroplasts from broken chloroplasts.

Applications of Chloroplast Isolation Kits

  • Suitable for a variety of plant leaves, such as spinach, peas, lettuce, cabbage, cabbage, and tobacco.
  • Suitable for biochemical analysis, SDS-PAGE, immunoblottings, chloroplast enzyme assay, etc.
  • Suitable for studying processes such as carbon assimilation, electron flow and phosphorylation.
  • The concentration of chlorophyll molecules can be estimated from isolated chloroplasts.
  • DNA and RNA can be extracted from the isolated chloroplasts.

Advantages of Chloroplast Isolation Kits

  • Use simple, proven protocols that are easy to execute.
  • Simple, fast and cost-effective.
  • Save time, the operation time is 5-10min.
  • A small sample size is sufficient, and the yield is as high as 95%.
  • Easy to store and transport.

Lifeasible offers a wide range of professional chloroplast isolation kits. Our aim is to provide the latest, economical and rapid testing kits to customers around the world.
